Bringing the festy scene to Southland

Activities – Hākinakina

Burning Horse was conceived with the idea of providing a setting for genuine, inconsequential, good, fun activities.  We view the venue as a giant playground and welcome you to consider it the same. Hone your skills and gaming instincts with a range of lawn sports including cornhole, ladder-ball, kubb and hacky.

For those who require more of a sporting incentive, we will be hosting two casual tournaments over the weekend. The Burning Horse Spikeball competition will be held on Saturday.  If you don’t know what Spikeball is then head over to https://spikeball.com/blogs/the-crop-circle/what-is-spikeball for some explanation and to get yourself a set to enhance your summer practice before the tournament.  (You won’t regret it.)

The second is The Montana Flat Disc Golf Fling.  If you’ve read the Burning Horse story you’ll have some idea of the significance of disc golf to the foundation of our event.  True to that history we will be running a tournament on Sunday at our prized Mataura River course. Prepare to test your arm against some of the best Southern throwers.

There will be a range of things to do, but again, it’s gonna be way more fun if you bring along the things you’re interested in.  Built yourself a giant Jenga set? Bring it along. Back yourself as king of a volleyball court? Bring your net. Planning a game of backyard cricket?  Cricket bats allowed!
